It's been FOREVER!

I didn't realize how long it had been since I blogged, buit it has been forever! I have however been reading the blogs that I follow so I can stay in the loop!
Anyway...I thought you might want to know what new things my little people have been getting into, so here ya go:

Maddox: He has several new favorite words such as "es stoooop". That's right, my boy know some spanish! Well really I don't know where the "es" part comes from, but he most definitely says "es stooop" when I am doing something he'd rather me not do; like changing his diaper! He also tells me "NO!" all the time or "uh uh"....Oh how I love these terrible twos! he also tells me when he wants a drink...he says muck, which means milk. He will repeat it over and over and try to bust open the fridge. He has also started puting words together to make half sentences such as me bean. Yay if you have been around Mado you would know that he carries around this green blanket EVERYWHERE. It's in almost all of his pictures that I have. Yep! this worn out green blanket is named Green Bean, and when he wants it or can't find it he yells "me bean, me bean" So cute! Maddox is also going down the potty training road. He has been using the potty every morning for like 2-3mths!!! Durning the day it is harder but he is still doing great, and when Santa brings big boy undies he might try harder ;)!

Side Note:  Green Bean is a half silky, half fuzzy green blanket that Maddox has had since birth. It has his name stiched on it. Well he has to have it, and his is getting so worn out. I thought I would purchase a spare just in case, but htey don't sell them in stored anymore. I search online and was only able to find 2 and they were on eBay, and they were used and going for $25-$30+shipping USED! No thanks!

Jakkson: WOW! Where do I begin??? He is doing so many new thing; it's amazing! Jakk can sit up now, but sometimes he chooses to just lay down [lazy boy]. He can also crawl now! Yay Jakk! He can get up on all fours but usually just army crawls. Sadly, I have also had to start supplementing some formula this week. My milk has started to disappear :( But hey, at least I made it to basically 7mths! I am going to try and still Breastfeed a couple time a day until he's a year hopefully.

So that is just a few things that my boys have been up to in the month I have been missing. Hopefully I won't be gone that long ever again!!!

New addition to our family

So as you now know my parents have moved to Kansas. Well...there is one thing that they had to leave behind. Something that Maddox simply could not live with out; I mean they are the same age and have been raised together ALL of their lives. So...I my camera is dead at the moment but I have a picture of what he looks like...and by he I mean Griffey! Griffey (or Dude as everyone calls him) is a 4lb chocolate tea cup chiuaua...

He looks just like this only he has HUGE eyes...and that's an understatement! So there you have it...our knew addition Griffey! I will post pics of him when I can use my camera again. He is such a sweet heart and absolutely LOVES my kids! He's so protective..for example...when Mado was about 9mths old he was trying to sneak crawl out of the living room at my parents, and Griffey knew Mado wasn't supposed to leave that room by himself so he tried to pull Maddox back into the living room by his socks!!! It was too cute!

Five Year Plan

OK...I was wondering the other night Where is my life going? I finally have declared a major that I am going to stick with, I am married, own our own home,  and have two beautiful children! So what's next? So I sat down and figured out my five year plan as I like to call it.
Ok so here it is...
  • Get my license as a LPN in December 2010
  • Graduate with a degree in Nursing (RN) December 2011
  • Find a job...shouldn't be too hard because nurses are in high demand.
Ok so there's 2 years so far...next:
  • Work while Derek finishes his last year of college...he graduates with a IT degree in December 2012.
  • Derek finds a good job
There's three years...
  • Purchase some land in the country somewhere around Barren county or the outskirts of BG...
  • Work with contractors on designing a new house to out on this land...put our house on the market
  • Have this house built on our new land, just the way we want it!
Hopefully thats about four years or four and a half...
  • We now want to try for another child...our kids will be 4 and 5 years old by now, and we will have a bigger home and have careers...
Side note: this time we will be hoping for a girl...we have picked the name Lexxi Grace...perfect!

So there you have it...that should take up the next five years of my life. I feel much better to see that I do have an interesting future if God willing it goes as planned!

Oh and we have a new member to our little family...there will be a post about that soon!

A few of my favorite things

Thats a few of MY favorite things!
Mado would like me to share a few of HIS favorite things:
BARNEY...yes this is my sons all time favorite! We watch Barney about and average of 5 times a day, but sometimes more!

TREATS! This his new favorite food I'd have to say. Now you have to know that I don't allow my kids to eat "treats" as maddox calls them all the time, but I do give him a treat when he goes potty, finishes his meal and so forth. So for him it is a treat, but I like to think of it as a reward.

COZY COUPE: We bought Maddox this for his 1st birthday, and he LOVES it. I often catch him in his room going for a "drive" and talking on his cell phone while singing to the radio. He has such a great imagination!

And last but definitely not all of his favs:

OREOS: Oh how he loves them...I only buy them every other time at the grocery otherwise that's all he would eat! He loves to pull them apart and only eat the side with the cream!

Well bye bye for now...I thought I'd share a few of our favorite things!

Wizard of OZ!

There you go! My beautiful boys on Halloween!

OK I'LL SAY IT!

Ok so I will start with a little background...
I was born in Granit City, IL in 1986. You see my family originates in the St. Louis area; we are one of those GM families...Anyway prior to my birth my loving granddad was transfered in 1981 to little 'ole Bowling Green, KY, and my dear dad missed him greatly. Well, a year after my baby brother was born in 1989, my parents decided that moving closer to my granddad would be a good idea and safer for us kids! So there you have it...I wasn't born here, but I have been raised here in BG since I was 3yrs old! Ok so...more history (because I know yor're are dying to know my family history!) well in 2002 my grandfather passed away which was very hard on me seeing that he and hhis wife were the only family that we had here in KY. Now last year his wife...my step-grandmother, passed away, so it was just my immediate family left.

Now down to the point...why did I tell you all of this you ask???!!! Well, just like my G-dad got transfered in 1981, MY DAD is getting tranfered to Kansas in 2 weeks!!! We are a very close family, and this is VERY hard for me. I can't be away from them, but I have my own little family so I can't just packed up and go to Kansas. I am so upset because my boys absolutely adore my dad [as do I], and now they won't even remember him because they won't get to see him much. It is heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking. I just can't stand the idea of being 8+ hours away from the only family I have left around here. I know my brother and sister are still here, but...not my parents! I guess I can do it, but I kinda don't want to, you know? I just hate that Maddox and Jakk won't get to see their grandparents but a couple time of year!

So there you have it...that's what I have been struggling with lately!

Jakkson You're 5mths Old!!!

Jakkson,
Oh where do I begin? You are special in sooo many ways. Your arrival was such a big surprise to everyone. God MUST have something incredible in store for you because he sent you to us so unexpectedly, but I would not have it any other way; you are simply AMAZING! You are the happiest baby I've ever met; all smiles all the time! You make it so easy to love you, and I am...head over heels! When they took you from me and rushed you to the NICU, I was crushed. Here you had only been in this world just a few minutes and already I was a nervous wreck over you! It's all worth it though. Like I said, you're simply amazing! You came to use 4weeks early, and on the night you decided to come, I thought to myself "I'm not ready. I need more time", but you little rebel, you said "tough! I'm ready, and I'm coming!" Oh and you came, and you were perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing about you! Your brother absolutely adores you, and I can tell you adore him too. You are a PERFECT addition to our family, Welcome!

Love Always,
Mommy

I wrote this for you when you were born and now five months have past and you've grown so much! You are truly a mommy's boy, and you LOVE to smile!
Just a glimps of how much you've changed

Ahhhh...

So yesterday i took this test, this awful test. You see I had to take this Nurse Aide test to become a CNA so I can stay in the Nursing program. Well...the written was a piece of cake. Then they pick 5 random skils for you to perform. Mine were:

1.Hand Washing...it was a joke..so easy
2.ROM exercises... I had the wrist and it was easy passed with flying colors
3.Mouth care of the Unconcious Resident...Easy as well
4. Male Perineal Care...Awkward but I flew through it
5. VITAL SIGNS...Ahhh I know I got the pulse right and the respirations, but...The blood pressure...I DONT KNOW!!! I wouldn't be so worried about it, but the girl I was partnered with had a really high BP and I had never practiced with her, and they don't tell you if you got it right!!!! Her BP was 140/92 from what I heard, and the instructer kinda acted like i knew but I just am so worried! You see if I got the wrong BP I fail the whole test! That's it one thing missed and I FAIL!!!!
I am so worried, and the results could take up to 30days!!!! What the Heck! They are trying to give me a stroke or something.
Well to think positively...if I passed this test starting in January I will be starting the Nursing program and will be set to graduate as a RN in December 2011! I can take the licensing exam in December 2010 to become a LPN and still continue on in the program and graduate with my degree and become a RN. So...I guess you could say that in one year I will finally have a professional title!!!! Yay!

Jackson's Orchard

So Sunday we went to Jackson's Orchard and I promised to post pictures...

The boys had a blast and we will be going back this Sunday to let Mado ride the slide and pet the animals and such. It was too dang crowded last week for that. We did though pick out two perfect pumpkins and will be decorating them tonight with our Mr. Potato Head pirate and skeleton!

Yesterday Maddox had to go to see the Allergist. We needed to find out why he keeps breaking out in hives. Well...the visit started out like this:
We get there and fill out the normal tons of paper work while Maddox plays with the toys in the waiting room. Then we get called back. The nurse grabs my dear rottweiler's Mado's wrist to check his pulse. Well, Maddox has never had his pulse taken the good ole fashion way so he freaked out and tried to get away. To him, she was trying to hurt him, he just didn't understand. Then just as she was finishing, I saw it. It was like slow motion and I tried to stop it but I couldn't in time....Mado bit that nurse and hard. I immediately pulled his head back before he could "latch" on. I was so embarrassed! Why immediately came to my mind was DaxFlame...my son could NOT be like DaxFlame, and THAT'S ALL! So Mado goes on and plays like nothing ever happened and the nurse ask all kinds of questions about Maddox. Then...the Dr. asks all kinds of questions and to sum it up these things from M's medical history are red flags for allergies and asthma: He had GERDS as a baby, eczema, ear infections (he's had plenty and tubes), random runny noses, congestion. So we pretty much already knew he had allergies, so hand me the Rx and lets go, right? No. They had to tourture test him first. They tell me to hold him in a hug and they whipped out these things that had 6 sharp things that had 5 individual sharp things on them. What did I get my baby into? Then not only did they stick those 30 things in his back to inject antigens in his body, they did it more times. So...that is 180 small needles stuck into my precious boys back. He was hysterical, I was hysterical, and he was hyperventilating! It only to took like 5minutes to see that he is allergic to:
  • Tree, grass, and weed pollen
  • Severly allergic to molds
  • House dust
  • Dust Mites
  • Cat and dog dander
  • Cockroach Antigen gross!

The good news is he doesn't have food allergies which are much harder to handle. He has to take Zyrtec and Nasonex everyday, but other than that he is doing good now!

PS...I promise Mado doesn't bite children, and untl now he has never bit a stranger! And before we left he gave the nurse a kiss to make up for it! ;)

Not Me Monday!

It's time for Not Me Monday, yall! Embarrassed about your child peeing on the seat at a restaurant? Ashamed of leaving a pile of dirty dishes in the sink for a solid week? Scootch over to MckMama's blog to read what she has not been doing this week!

So I most definitely did not let my 4.5mth old baby boy have a taste of a cookie and then I did not proceed to let him suck on the whole thing. I also did not let him have a taste of the chocolate chip cookies that Mado and I made. And then there is NO way I took a picture of this event to share with my bloggy friends!
So with that being said...I also did not let my oldest not really potty trained son run around naked after his bath. And he did not then pee and poop in my floor instead of the potty, but after he didn't do that I rushed him to the potty and he DID pee-pee in his potty for the first time!!!!!

Fall Time!!!

This is my favorite time of year! Pumpkins, piles of leaves, cool but not cold weather, haunted houses, and FALL BREAK!!! I love fall, but mostly because towards the end of fall is my Birthday!!! Anyway to kick off this fall weather, we are taking the boys to Jackson's Orchard tomorrow after church and letting them pick out pumpkins to pop! their Mr. Potato head pieces into; so excited! Also next weekend I am taking Jakk to get his 4mth pictures taken and he has the most adorable outfit to wear, and he is doing the most adorable things that are going to make awesome pictures!!!! I might have to reschedule though to Thursday night instead of Saturday because I might be going to visit my family with my parents in St. Louis!!! My baby cousin is expecting a baby boy in like January or February and I have all sorts of clothes to give her! (By baby cousin, I mean my 17yr old totally irresponsible cousin -- but hey it happens!) Plus my grandmother has not seen either of my children yet and it would be nice for them to meet their great-grandmother. Well I will most likely be posting pics tomorrow of our adventure to JO [Jackson's Orchard]

THE END!

30 day what???

So I have been doing this thing called the 30day shred and well yeah, it sucks! I mean it is horrific, but I am getting used to it. I made DDB [Darling Der Bear] start doing it with me and let me remind you that he works out all the time, well it killed him. That goes to show you this 30 day shred isn't to be taken lightly! In addition to this 30day shred, I have started a new diet. Ya know, trying to work off this baby weight! When your used to being like 105lbs and you add like 40lbs to that, you feel like a....um...BLIMP! So my new diet is a Special K diet. It consists of either Special K cereal [very yummy] for breakfast or a SK Meal bar and coffee[yuck!]. For a snack I have a meal bar [I know it says meal but hey I'm BFing and you get really hungry when your giving half of what you eat away]. For lunch I have SK cereal again, which is so delicious. And for dinner I eat what I make for Derek and Mado, I just dont eat breads. Like last night I made a pork roast and then after it was done [4.5hrs later] I pulled it from the fat and added BBQ sauce and a little bit of Ketchup adn made BBQ pork sandwiches for the boys and left the bread off for me. I also made my own recipe for these whole potatoes simmered in Creole seasoning...mmm...I am getting hungry...any way...this diet is going good so far!
So anyways...Yesterday me and the boys went to one of my favorite places...TARGET! While there I realized I am not done hving kids after all... I'll take a girl please! No really I was shopping for a friend whom just had a baby girl, Addison! I wanted to buy the whole store but instead I bought an adorable outfit...

Too cute! Also i got something for the boys to decorate their pumpkins this year with...

So that's all folks!
Love,
Kris

My so called day off...

Well...I finished up my nurse aide class with four days of clinicals at a nursing home in Glasgow. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, but really it wasn't that bad. I just had to bathe , dress, and change old people....really, it wasn't that bad. So this week is supposed to start off easy since I don't have that class anymore, but it's already been hectic. It started with a 6 am wake up call and as been eventful all the way up until 2minutes ago when I got puked on by my darling Mado :). But... Other things that have gone on in the past week are...

We bought Mado a little kitchen of his own so he will stay out of mine because he loves to cook! Ps...The kitchen looked all good and organized after i spent 3hrs building it and decorating, but it only took him 3minutes to make it look like mommy's kitchen like this!

We Also... Can you guess what is about to happen???

His hair appears red here...have you guessed yet?

A shot of those curls! [pay NO attention to the woman on the left] Are you catching on to what's about to happen?

Yep! Mado got his first hair cut!!! I thought I was going to cry...poor Mado he didn't know what was going on...he just clung tight to his hairy sucker while I apparently squeezed his cheeks...

And the finished product...

Ok I know it wasn't a major hair cut...but...it was MAJOR for me!

And before I go...

Love it!
Typical brothers...
Jakk wearing daddy's favorite team!
My little blessing
And my big boy eating with a spoon!!!! even if it was just pudding :P

EDIT: I totally forgot to brag mention that Jakkopotamus is rolling and scooting like a pro!!! At only four months he can do all that and when on his belly he can push himself up with his forearms and hold his head way up like that...I am so PROUD!

Peace and Quiet

All I have needed all day is some peace and quiet! Well... I finally have it, and so I thought I would come blog! We got a new computer last week and now we broke down and got cable and internet! [I just realized that I use alot of exclamation points]

Anyway...this is what's been going on over here...Today I took a 4hr exam called the TEAS exam. It must be taken in order to get into the nursing program. All I know is that it made my head hurt, and I really thought I was done with CATS Testing Junior year of high school; NOPE! This was pretty much exactly the same. Those little bubbles, questions about earth science that I think I was never taught, and converting Celcius to Ferienheight...oh brother! I made a 100% on my Nurse Aide Test, and a 110% on my Anatomy Test!!! I am doing so much better this time around it is unreal!

UPDATE: Mado is doing great! He is no longer contagious (I forgot to blog about it, but he had the dreadful Swine Flu!) and he is back home. You see since we have Jakkopotamus, Mado couldn't stay at home to make sure Jakk didn't catch it because he's so small and has weak lungs. Maddox stay with my parents, which I think he enjoyed more than being at home...

Also I got this new breast pump...a top notch Medela, and it is wonderful! I know ya'll probably don't understand why I get so excited about a breast pump, but it really makes a difference with you milk supply if you have a good pump! I alsom started Jakk on some solids and he is doing amazing with them!

Now it's time for....PICTURES!!!!

We got Jakk this new BeBe Pod (Bumbo Seat) and he's not to sure about it, but he looks too cute in it!

When eats he always manages to get this Mad Scientist hair style going on!

Jakk in the Jumperoo!

My boys watching Barney [for the 5th time] together..hmmm..oh btw I know my house is a wreck...don't judge!

Just chillin'
We got Mado this power Wheels 4wheeler...and he LOVES it!

Well that's all for now!

Swine Flu?!?!?

So...it turns out that my brother in law has swine flu. We found this out yesterday after having Maddox and Jakk in the same house with him half the day on Sunday! So I am kinda freaking out, not because it is the Swine flu but because influenza is very serious in babies and especially in babies that were born with weak lungs(Jakk)! I am going to have to call the doctor today I guess to see what I need to do now. On a lighter note...

I only have 3 more class days and three clinical days left of my Nurse Aide class and then no more early morning drives to Glasgow! I also think I have found my calling. I am doing so well in ALL of my classes! Are you proud Christine? I think I was meant to be a nurse.
Ohhhh...
VENT:
I have this friend that doesn't know how to keep her legs shut isn't very lady like! Well... she is going through a divorce, and thinks she might be preggo with another man's child! What's worse is she keeps hinting around to me that if she is preggo, she WILL NOT have another baby...get what she means! I finally couldn't take it...i went off. There are so many people that try so hard to have a baby (me at one time) and just can't, and she is going to have an abortion if she's preggo because she can't keep it in her pants!!! Uhggg! That's all!

I'm Ba-ack...

So I don't know if anyone noticed, but I have been gone for quite sometime. I have been so busy with school and the boys. I have a class that is a biterm that is going to be over at the end of Sept....so YAY!!! That class last for four hrs three days a week, therefore; I am thrilled to have that out of the way soon. So what have I been up to lately? Well lets see...a week ago Mado woke up with a rash thing that spread all over his body thoughout the day...I mean it looked like he had been caught on fire HORRIBLE! It turned out to be hives...he's had them really bad before but not that bad. We now have to take him an Allergist on Oct. 14th to find out what he is allergic to that keeps doing this.

It looked like this only bright, bright red...the doctor took a picture of it because it was so bad!

So we will see what happns with that, you should have seen him his face was all puffy and red. I seriously cried with him becasue I felt so bad for him!

On a lighter note...Jakk has started eating cereal, and we have now moved him to stage one foods! He is doing really well, and eats wonderfully from a spoon...my little piglet eats like a champ! Pictures to come soon!
