It's been FOREVER!
Anyway...I thought you might want to know what new things my little people have been getting into, so here ya go:
Maddox: He has several new favorite words such as "es stoooop". That's right, my boy know some spanish! Well really I don't know where the "es" part comes from, but he most definitely says "es stooop" when I am doing something he'd rather me not do; like changing his diaper! He also tells me "NO!" all the time or "uh uh"....Oh how I love these terrible twos! he also tells me when he wants a drink...he says muck, which means milk. He will repeat it over and over and try to bust open the fridge. He has also started puting words together to make half sentences such as me bean. Yay if you have been around Mado you would know that he carries around this green blanket EVERYWHERE. It's in almost all of his pictures that I have. Yep! this worn out green blanket is named Green Bean, and when he wants it or can't find it he yells "me bean, me bean" So cute! Maddox is also going down the potty training road. He has been using the potty every morning for like 2-3mths!!! Durning the day it is harder but he is still doing great, and when Santa brings big boy undies he might try harder ;)!
Side Note: Green Bean is a half silky, half fuzzy green blanket that Maddox has had since birth. It has his name stiched on it. Well he has to have it, and his is getting so worn out. I thought I would purchase a spare just in case, but htey don't sell them in stored anymore. I search online and was only able to find 2 and they were on eBay, and they were used and going for $25-$30+shipping USED! No thanks!
Jakkson: WOW! Where do I begin??? He is doing so many new thing; it's amazing! Jakk can sit up now, but sometimes he chooses to just lay down [lazy boy]. He can also crawl now! Yay Jakk! He can get up on all fours but usually just army crawls. Sadly, I have also had to start supplementing some formula this week. My milk has started to disappear :( But hey, at least I made it to basically 7mths! I am going to try and still Breastfeed a couple time a day until he's a year hopefully.
So that is just a few things that my boys have been up to in the month I have been missing. Hopefully I won't be gone that long ever again!!!

Five Year Plan
Ok so here it is...
- Get my license as a LPN in December 2010
- Graduate with a degree in Nursing (RN) December 2011
- Find a job...shouldn't be too hard because nurses are in high demand.
- Work while Derek finishes his last year of college...he graduates with a IT degree in December 2012.
- Derek finds a good job
- Purchase some land in the country somewhere around Barren county or the outskirts of BG...
- Work with contractors on designing a new house to out on this land...put our house on the market
- Have this house built on our new land, just the way we want it!
- We now want to try for another child...our kids will be 4 and 5 years old by now, and we will have a bigger home and have careers...
So there you have it...that should take up the next five years of my life. I feel much better to see that I do have an interesting future if God willing it goes as planned!
Oh and we have a new member to our little family...there will be a post about that soon!

A few of my favorite things

OK I'LL SAY IT!
I was born in Granit City, IL in 1986. You see my family originates in the St. Louis area; we are one of those GM families...Anyway prior to my birth my loving granddad was transfered in 1981 to little 'ole Bowling Green, KY, and my dear dad missed him greatly. Well, a year after my baby brother was born in 1989, my parents decided that moving closer to my granddad would be a good idea and safer for us kids! So there you have it...I wasn't born here, but I have been raised here in BG since I was 3yrs old! Ok so...more history (because I know yor're are dying to know my family history!) well in 2002 my grandfather passed away which was very hard on me seeing that he and hhis wife were the only family that we had here in KY. Now last year his wife...my step-grandmother, passed away, so it was just my immediate family left.
Now down to the point...why did I tell you all of this you ask???!!! Well, just like my G-dad got transfered in 1981, MY DAD is getting tranfered to Kansas in 2 weeks!!! We are a very close family, and this is VERY hard for me. I can't be away from them, but I have my own little family so I can't just packed up and go to Kansas. I am so upset because my boys absolutely adore my dad [as do I], and now they won't even remember him because they won't get to see him much. It is heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking. I just can't stand the idea of being 8+ hours away from the only family I have left around here. I know my brother and sister are still here, but...not my parents! I guess I can do it, but I kinda don't want to, you know? I just hate that Maddox and Jakk won't get to see their grandparents but a couple time of year!
So there you have it...that's what I have been struggling with lately!

Jakkson You're 5mths Old!!!
Oh where do I begin? You are special in sooo many ways. Your arrival was such a big surprise to everyone. God MUST have something incredible in store for you because he sent you to us so unexpectedly, but I would not have it any other way; you are simply AMAZING! You are the happiest baby I've ever met; all smiles all the time! You make it so easy to love you, and I am...head over heels! When they took you from me and rushed you to the NICU, I was crushed. Here you had only been in this world just a few minutes and already I was a nervous wreck over you! It's all worth it though. Like I said, you're simply amazing! You came to use 4weeks early, and on the night you decided to come, I thought to myself "I'm not ready. I need more time", but you little rebel, you said "tough! I'm ready, and I'm coming!" Oh and you came, and you were perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing about you! Your brother absolutely adores you, and I can tell you adore him too. You are a PERFECT addition to our family, Welcome!
Love Always,
Mommy
I wrote this for you when you were born and now five months have past and you've grown so much! You are truly a mommy's boy, and you LOVE to smile!
Just a glimps of how much you've changed

Ahhhh...
1.Hand Washing...it was a joke..so easy
2.ROM exercises... I had the wrist and it was easy passed with flying colors
3.Mouth care of the Unconcious Resident...Easy as well
4. Male Perineal Care...Awkward but I flew through it
5. VITAL SIGNS...Ahhh I know I got the pulse right and the respirations, but...The blood pressure...I DONT KNOW!!! I wouldn't be so worried about it, but the girl I was partnered with had a really high BP and I had never practiced with her, and they don't tell you if you got it right!!!! Her BP was 140/92 from what I heard, and the instructer kinda acted like i knew but I just am so worried! You see if I got the wrong BP I fail the whole test! That's it one thing missed and I FAIL!!!!
I am so worried, and the results could take up to 30days!!!! What the Heck! They are trying to give me a stroke or something.
Well to think positively...if I passed this test starting in January I will be starting the Nursing program and will be set to graduate as a RN in December 2011! I can take the licensing exam in December 2010 to become a LPN and still continue on in the program and graduate with my degree and become a RN. So...I guess you could say that in one year I will finally have a professional title!!!! Yay!

Jackson's Orchard
The boys had a blast and we will be going back this Sunday to let Mado ride the slide and pet the animals and such. It was too dang crowded last week for that. We did though pick out two perfect pumpkins and will be decorating them tonight with our Mr. Potato Head pirate and skeleton!
Yesterday Maddox had to go to see the Allergist. We needed to find out why he keeps breaking out in hives. Well...the visit started out like this:
- Tree, grass, and weed pollen
- Severly allergic to molds
- House dust
- Dust Mites
- Cat and dog dander
- Cockroach Antigen gross!
The good news is he doesn't have food allergies which are much harder to handle. He has to take Zyrtec and Nasonex everyday, but other than that he is doing good now!
PS...I promise Mado doesn't bite children, and untl now he has never bit a stranger! And before we left he gave the nurse a kiss to make up for it! ;)

My so called day off...
We bought Mado a little kitchen of his own
so he will stay out of mine because he loves to cook! Ps...The kitchen looked all good and organized after i spent 3hrs building it and decorating, but it only took him 3minutes to make it look like mommy's kitchen like this!
We Also... Can you guess what is about to happen???
His hair appears red here...have you guessed yet?
Yep! Mado got his first hair cut!!! I thought I was going to cry...poor Mado he didn't know what was going on...he just clung tight to his hairy sucker while I apparently squeezed his cheeks...
And the finished product...Ok I know it wasn't a major hair cut...but...it was MAJOR for me!
And before I go...
EDIT: I totally forgot to

Peace and Quiet
Anyway...this is what's been going on over here...Today I took a 4hr exam called the TEAS exam. It must be taken in order to get into the nursing program. All I know is that it made my head hurt, and I really thought I was done with CATS Testing Junior year of high school; NOPE! This was pretty much exactly the same. Those little bubbles, questions about earth science that I think I was never taught, and converting Celcius to Ferienheight...oh brother! I made a 100% on my Nurse Aide Test, and a 110% on my Anatomy Test!!! I am doing so much better this time around it is unreal!
UPDATE: Mado is doing great! He is no longer contagious (I forgot to blog about it, but he had the dreadful Swine Flu!) and he is back home. You see since we have Jakkopotamus, Mado couldn't stay at home to make sure Jakk didn't catch it because he's so small and has weak lungs. Maddox stay with my parents, which I think he enjoyed more than being at home...
Also I got this new breast pump...a top notch Medela, and it is wonderful! I know ya'll probably don't understand why I get so excited about a breast pump, but it really makes a difference with you milk supply if you have a good pump! I alsom started Jakk on some solids and he is doing amazing with them!
Now it's time for....PICTURES!!!!

Swine Flu?!?!?
I only have 3 more class days and three clinical days left of my Nurse Aide class and then no more early morning drives to Glasgow! I also think I have found my calling. I am doing so well in ALL of my classes! Are you proud Christine? I think I was meant to be a nurse.
Ohhhh...
VENT:
I have this friend that

It looked like this only bright, bright red...the doctor took a picture of it because it was so bad!
So we will see what happns with that, you should have seen him his face was all puffy and red. I seriously cried with him becasue I felt so bad for him!
On a lighter note...Jakk has started eating cereal, and we have now moved him to stage one foods! He is doing really well, and eats wonderfully from a spoon...my little piglet eats like a champ! Pictures to come soon!
